As the FWMBCC’s Annual Film and Movie Institute begins its 26th year, volunteers and sponsors are needed to make this year’s event a successful one.
In the past 25 years, the Institute has had 15 movie premieres and three movie audition sessions, said Director Gwen Barbee. This year’s Institute will be Saturday, Feb. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Forest Hill Civic and Convention Center. (The deadline to register is Feb. 10.) Click here to register
The Institute, which is open to children (age 6 +) and adults interested in filmmaking, will present workshops by industry experts covering crucial aspects of a career in the film and entertainment business, including: acting, modeling, film production, directing, writing, camera operation, staging and lighting.
The fee for attending the Institute is $75. However, scholarship from local sponsors allow for selected middle and high school students from Dallas/Fort Worth Worth area schools to attend at no charge.
For information on how to volunteer and/or be a sponsor, contact Gwen Barbee at 682-365-5895.
